Hedley & Carly Rae Jepsen at Rogers K-Rock Centre

As soon as we were walked to the pit for this concert, I knew we were all in for a show. I noticed right away that there were cameras setup to project the show on big screens, there were a ton of lights, and for the first time there were security guards in front of the stage. The security is something I haven’t seen at any show I’ve shot yet, but as soon as Carly Rae hit the stage it became clear why they were there! Hedley also had a clever intro video which introduced the band in the style of an old TV sitcom which had the crowd whipped up into a frenzy.

High energy would be an understatement for Hedley.  Jacob was one of the most challenging singers I’ve photographed as he ran from one end of the stage to the other, it was difficult to predict where he would be next. But the great thing was that the band did a fantastic job of interacting with the photographers and posing for shots.
